Puscifer opens the first seven shows of A Perfect Circle's 2027 North American tour, and The Cult opens the other 25. Puscifer plays all six Canadian dates plus Detroit, April 13 through April 25. The Cult plays every US date, from Boston on April 27 through the final show in Phoenix on June 13. Nobody rotates and nothing changes city to city, so once you know which half of the tour your city falls in, you know exactly who plays before A Perfect Circle.

The seven Puscifer nights come with a bonus. Puscifer is Maynard James Keenan's own band, so on those dates he sings twice: a full Puscifer set first, then a full A Perfect Circle set. "Very much looking forward to pulling double duty through Canada with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer," Keenan said when the tour was announced. "Been way, way too long."

A Perfect Circle announced the 32 shows on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the same day they released a new single, and named both opening acts right away. General on-sale was Friday, October 2, 2026 at 10 a.m. local time, so tickets are already out.

The Two Opening Acts

Puscifer is the band Keenan started in 2007, and it sounds and looks nothing like A Perfect Circle. The shows are theatrical, with costumes, recurring characters and video, closer to a comedy sketch wrapped around electronic rock than to a straight rock set. The band released Normal Isn't on February 6, 2026, its first album in more than five years and its darkest, most guitar-heavy one yet. The two bands also have a practice run coming: Puscifer joins A Perfect Circle for a set of Australia and New Zealand shows in December 2026, so by April they will have done this before.

The Cult is the bigger surprise. Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy played their last show on October 30, 2025 at the Shrine in Los Angeles and then said they were stepping away from touring "for an undetermined amount of time" to write and record. They have not played a show since. These 25 dates are the first they have announced since that break started, which makes the US half of this tour a reunion of sorts on top of everything else. Their last studio album was Under the Midnight Sun in October 2022, and a live album, Paradise Live, arrived on January 16, 2026.

If you have never seen The Cult, they are the band behind "She Sells Sanctuary," "Fire Woman" and "Love Removal Machine," and they still play like a headliner. Showing up early is worth it.

Four Things Worth Knowing Before You Book

One date has no venue yet. The May 19 show in Elizabethtown, Kentucky was announced without a venue name. The city is finishing a new 10,000-capacity outdoor venue called Steelgrove Amphitheater, due to open in spring 2027, which is the obvious candidate. Until the ticket page says so, treat that date as the one to re-check before you book a hotel.

Charlotte's venue changed names, not locations. Truliant Amphitheater is the same place that was called PNC Music Pavilion from 2013 through the start of 2026. Older listings and old directions still use the previous name.

Two cities get two nights each. Niagara Falls on April 22 and 23, and Las Vegas on June 10 and 11. If your first choice sells out, the second night in those cities is a real option.

The venues are all over the map in size. Red Rocks on May 27 and the Hollywood Bowl on June 6 are the two showpiece nights, both outdoors and both much bigger than the casino theaters in Niagara Falls and Reno. MGM Music Hall at Fenway holds about 5,000 and Detroit's Fox Theatre is a restored 1928 movie palace, while Bridgestone Arena and Climate Pledge Arena are full NHL buildings. Same tour, very different nights.

There are also a lot of weeknights here for a tour this size: Tuesdays in Vancouver, Boston, Charlotte, Portland and Chula Vista, Mondays in Winnipeg and St. Louis, Wednesdays in Uncasville, Duluth and Elizabethtown. The schedule also takes a full week off between Grand Prairie on May 8 and Nashville on May 15.

The New Music Behind the Tour

A Perfect Circle broke an eight-year silence in May 2026 with "Starless," their first new song since Eat the Elephant in 2018. It reached number one at Active Rock radio in late September 2026, and the follow-up, "To Whom It May Concern," came out on September 29 alongside the tour announcement.

There is still no album. Guitarist Billy Howerdel has said more music is underway without committing to a date, so going in expecting a new record by April would be optimistic. What you can expect is a set with at least two songs nobody had heard before 2026, which for this band counts as a lot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is opening for A Perfect Circle in 2027?

Two acts, split cleanly. Puscifer opens the seven shows from April 13 to April 25: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, both Niagara Falls nights and Detroit. The Cult opens all 25 US shows from April 27 in Boston through June 13 in Phoenix.

Does Maynard James Keenan really play two sets some nights?

Yes. On the seven Puscifer dates he sings with Puscifer and then with A Perfect Circle, so you get two full sets from the same singer in one night.

Is Puscifer playing any US shows on this tour?

Only one. Detroit on April 25 is the single US date Puscifer plays. Every other Puscifer show is in Canada.

Is The Cult back from their break?

These dates are the first shows The Cult have announced since they said in October 2025 that they were stepping away from touring to write and record. Their last concert before that was October 30, 2025 in Los Angeles.

Where does the tour start and end?

It starts Tuesday, April 13, 2027 at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre in Vancouver and ends Sunday, June 13, 2027 at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix.

Which venue is the May 19 show in Elizabethtown, Kentucky?

The announcement did not name one. Elizabethtown is building Steelgrove Amphitheater, a 10,000-capacity outdoor venue scheduled to open in spring 2027, and that is the likely answer. Check the ticket listing before you make travel plans around that date.

Is there a new A Perfect Circle album coming?

Nothing has been announced. The band has released two singles, "Starless" in May 2026 and "To Whom It May Concern" in September 2026, and Billy Howerdel has said more music is in progress without giving a release date.
