Six different acts open for Leon Bridges on the 2027 Happiness Anytime Tour, and the one you get depends on when you go rather than where. The three spring arena shows all have Mari Froes plus a second act that changes by city. Every one of the 17 summer amphitheater dates, July 16 through August 26, has Kokoroko. All eight September dates have Peter Cat Recording Co. The first show of the tour, April 7 in Las Vegas, has no opener announced at all.

Bridges announced the tour on Thursday, October 8, 2026 and named the openers the same day, so none of this is guesswork. It is 29 shows in the US and Canada, running Wednesday, April 7 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas through Wednesday, September 29 at Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix. General tickets go on sale Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10 a.m. local time.

The tour follows Happiness Anytime, Bridges' album released September 25, 2026 on Columbia and produced by J Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kitto of the British group Jungle. It is a warmer, looser, more rhythm-driven record than anything he has made, which explains why the openers lean so heavily toward Afrobeat and Brazilian music instead of the straight soul revival crowd.

The Six Opening Acts

Kokoroko play the most shows by a wide margin: all 17 dates from Charlotte in July through Indianapolis in August. They are an eight-piece band from London built around trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey, and they sit somewhere between Afrobeat, jazz and West African highlife. Their record Tuff Times Never Last came out on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label, and they played the Hollywood Bowl in June 2026. If you have only ever seen a single person with an acoustic guitar warm up an amphitheater, this is a different thing entirely: horns, percussion and almost no talking between songs. Show up for it.

Mari Froes plays the three spring arena shows in Fort Worth, Toronto and New York. She is a Brazilian singer-songwriter whose debut album Esquina Do Sol came out on Sony Music in June 2026, built out of MPB, samba, bossa nova and jazz. She toured North America for the first time in late 2026 and sold out at least one of those rooms. These three shows are the only chance to catch her on this tour.

Peter Cat Recording Co. play all eight September dates. The band is from New Delhi and fronted by Suryakant Sawhney, and their 2019 album Bismillah is the one that got them heard outside India: big-band arrangements, Bollywood strings and jazz, sung in a voice that sounds like it is coming through an old radio. BETA followed. They are the strangest booking on the tour and probably the most interesting.

The Womack Sisters play one show only, Fort Worth on April 23, Bridges' hometown date. The trio are BG, Zeimani and Kucha Womack, granddaughters of Sam Cooke and daughters of Cecil and Linda Womack of Womack & Womack. Their self-titled debut is on Daptone Records, produced by Gabriel Roth. If you want a sense of why Bridges' music sounds the way it does, this is the family tree it comes from.

Rachel Chinouriri plays Toronto on April 27, and nowhere else on this tour. She is a London singer-songwriter whose second album I think I spoke too soon arrives in October 2026, following her 2024 debut What a Devastating Turn of Events. She is the one act here already drawing her own crowd in big buildings, with a run of Gracie Abrams arena shows booked for December 2026.

El Michels Affair play Madison Square Garden on May 1, their only date. Leon Michels' Brooklyn group make instrumental soul that sounds like a lost film score, and their 2023 album with Black Thought, Glorious Game, is the best way in. For the biggest headline show of Bridges' career, this is a deliberately low-key, deeply nerdy choice, and it will sound great in that building.

Two things worth knowing about this list. A few amphitheaters have posted their date with a line about an extra act still to be announced alongside Kokoroko, so a third name could show up on some summer shows. And as of October 13, the St. Augustine date on July 18 and the Columbus date on September 14 were in the tour announcement but had not yet appeared on their venues' own calendars, so check those two before you make plans around them.

Bridges also plays four South American festivals in March 2027, at Lollapalooza in Argentina, Chile and Brazil and at Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota. Festival sets have no openers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is opening for Leon Bridges in 2027?

It depends on the date. Kokoroko open the 17 summer shows from July 16 to August 26. Peter Cat Recording Co. open all eight September shows. The three spring arena shows have Mari Froes plus one other act: The Womack Sisters in Fort Worth, Rachel Chinouriri in Toronto, El Michels Affair in New York. The April 7 show in Las Vegas has no opener announced.

Does the opener change from city to city?

Not really, which makes this tour easier to plan than most. The opener changes by stretch of the calendar, not by city. Any summer amphitheater date gets you Kokoroko, and any September date gets you Peter Cat Recording Co. Only the four spring shows are one-offs.

How many shows are on the tour?

Twenty-nine in the US and Canada, from April 7 in Las Vegas to September 29 in Phoenix, plus four South American festival appearances in March 2027.

When do tickets go on sale?

General on-sale is Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10 a.m. local time. The artist presale and the Citi cardholder presale both started Tuesday, October 13 at 10 a.m. local. Venue presales land on October 14 or October 15 depending on the building.

What time does the show start?

Most dates are posted at 7:30 p.m., with the Las Vegas show at 8 p.m. after 7 p.m. doors and a few amphitheater dates at 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. With two openers on the spring arena shows, get there close to the posted time if you want to see everyone. Exact set times go up in the week of the show.

Is Leon Bridges playing his new album?

The tour is named after Happiness Anytime, released September 25, 2026, so expect a good chunk of it. He has four albums behind it, though, and "Coming Home," "River" and "Beyond" are not going anywhere.

Which show is the biggest?

Madison Square Garden on May 1, which is Bridges' first time headlining the building. Red Rocks on August 3 is the one most people will travel for.
